Muskegon Co. officials figuring out how to spend COVID relief money

Muskegon County leaders are coming up with ideas on how they want to use COVID-19 federal relief money that is headed their way.

The money is to be used for rebuilding communities hit hardest by the pandemic and helping people get back to work.

The city is expecting to receive between $24 million and $25 million.

Muskegon City Manager Frank Peterson says they need to be careful to make sure they spend the money on things that will have a long-term impact.

The community has until 2024 to spend the money and Muskegon officials are asking for community input on how to spend it.
