Commissioner to introduce act to ban hair discrimination

The CROWN Act has been a growing topic of discussion in communities around the country.

Recently, Dove completed a study and found Black women are 80 percent more likely to change their natural hair due to social norms or to meet expectations at work.

Business owners and community leaders say if the act is passed, it would help end discrimination on the job.

Ingham County became the first Michigan county to ban discrimination based on hair style or texture for public employees.
