GR businesses hit hard by pandemic moving workers remote

Grand Rapid business leaders were disappointed to learn the state currently plans to extend the COVID-19 restrictions requiring anyone who can work from home to do so.

Director of COVID-19 Workplace Safety in Michigan Sean Egan says nothing is set in stone but they expect to extend the restriction through October.

The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce says remote work has been tough on small businesses in the downtown area.

Several restaurants that used to offer lunch service are no longer opening until dinner as there is not enough customers to warrant offering the service.
