The Big Three 3-16-21

1 Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel has declined legislators requests to investigate whether nursing home orders issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer led to COVID-19 deaths or if related data is inaccurate.

She says there’s no evidence that any law was violated.

2 US Justice Dept court filings say fallen US Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick & two other officers were temporarily blinded and overcome by bear spray.

Two men have been arrested and charged with assaulting US Capitol Police Officer Sicknick.

Federal authorities said they were pursuing a murder investigation in the weeks after Sicknick's death. But they struggled to build a federal murder case as they pored over videos and images trying to determine the moment in which he suffered his fatal injuries.

3 They lied.. again

The Washington Post has admitted to it in a retraction issued two months later.

The Post says they “misquoted” former President Donald Trump telling Georgia’s top elections investigator “to find the fraud,” in December.

The correction ran atop an online version of the updated original story that had quoted an anonymous source about a phone call Trump made to Georgia’s top elections investigation official shortly before Christmas.
