Rep. Tommy Brann to run for state Senate

Michigan State Representative Tommy Brann is announcing he will run for state Senate.

He will run to fill the 28th state Senate seat which is currently vacant.

The seat was held by Kent County Treasurer Peter MacGregor, who left the Senate in 2020, two years before his term was set to expire.

Brann has served Kent County as a representative since 2017 and owned Brann's Steakhouse for 50 years.

He is one of three Republicans in the running for the position.
