Gov. Whitmer is asking the people of Michigan to turn on the lights outside their homes for an hour to remember thousands of people who have died from COVID-19 from 8 to 9 tomorrow night, one year after the state first confirmed coronavirus cases.

2 Macomb County Prosecutor, Peter Lucido, says criminal charges could be filed against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer over her handling of the coronavirus pandemic and those who died in nursing homes.

Peter Lucido told ABC Detroit that he is encouraging people who lost loved ones in nursing homes to go and get information from the facilities about the circumstances surrounding their death.

He’s encouraging them to file a wrongful death complaint with police.

“If we find there’s been willful neglect of office if we find there’s been reckless endangerment of a person’s life by bringing them in then we would move forward with charges against the Governor,” Lucido said. “Of course, we would. Nobody’s above the law in this state.”

3 Is there a crisis at the border?

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Monday asked DHS staff to volunteer to help deal with what he conceded was an "overwhelming" number of migrants at the border, as the administration scrambles to deal with the escalating crisis.

"Today, I activated the Volunteer Force to support Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as they face a surge in migration along the Southwest Border," Mayorkas said in an email to staff, seen by Fox N

Currently there are more kids being kept in cages in the first 100 days of the Biden administration than there were during the peak of Trump’s in 2019.
