Father of Newaygo student charged after teen brought explosive to school

Officials say a Newaygo-area man has been charged, after his son brought a homemade explosive device to school and it exploded injuring several.

Thirty-three-year-old David Robert Daniel Saylor is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and manufacturing or possession of a Molotov cocktail.

Officials say the 16-year-old told police his father was making and exploding devices at home.

A search warrant was executed and officials found a variety of explosives and explosive materials.
