Wedding venue owners calling on Whitmer to loosen restrictions

Dozens of event venues in Grand Rapids and the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce sent a letter to Governor Gretchen Whitmer on Monday, asking for her to increase capacity limits.

Weddings and luncheons currently have a limit of 25 people.

Venue owners say their businesses can't survive on the current limits and want to be able to operate at 50 percent capacity.

Bing Goei owns the Goei Center in Grand Rapids and says they aren't using science for the 25 person restriction.
