Protesters in custody during downtown GR George Floyd event

Several protesters were taken into custody Monday night in downtown Grand Rapids during the George Floyd protest.

Protesters gathered in response to the start of former police officer Derek Chauvin's trial.

The incident started around 7:15 p.m. when police told protesters they could not gather in the street.

The crowd had mostly left the area by 7:30.
