More young people falling for online scams

The pandemic is playing a role in who is falling victim to scams.

The 2020 Better Business Bureau's Scam Tracker Risk Report shows online purchasing scams have moved young people to the top of the list for most likely to be scammed.

Adults ages 18 to 24 reported the highest median losses ranking even with the 65+ age group that traditionally sees the highest loss.

Troy Baker, educational foundation director for the BBB Serving Western Michigan, says people should do some research before buying online.
