Independent pharmacies want to help with vaccine distribution

Independent pharmacies say they could help with COVID-19 vaccination efforts.

Advanced Health Pharmacy in Portage registered with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 2020 to administer vaccines.

Owner Arun Tandon says they were told they would be contacted when vaccines were available for them but that hasn't happened yet.

Tandon says the pharmacy could administer 300 vaccines a day as he has more staff authorized to give vaccines than big retail pharmacies.
