Wife says Allegan Co. man admitted fault in daughters death in 1989

Witnesses told an Allegan County judge on Monday that a man accused of murdering his daughter over 30 years ago told his wife he was responsible for her death.

Fourteen-year-old Aundria Bowman vanished from her family's home in Fillmore Township on March 11, 1989.

Her remains were found in a shallow grave in February 2020.

Michigan State Police Detective Sgt. Todd Workman testified on Monday that Bowman changed his story several times but admitted that he punched Aundria after he found her trying to run away and she died after falling down the stairs.

Bowman said he buried her instead of calling police and then reported her missing.
