Larry King's Wife Contests His Amended Will, Claims He Has A Secret Account

Larry King's wife, Shawn King, is contesting his amended will after being excluded from his fortune.

As per documents obtained by ET Online, the late, great TV icon created an updated will, which sees him request his $2 million fortune be left to his five children: Chaia, Andy, Larry Jr., Chance and Cannon. Last year, Andy, 65, and Chaia, 51, both passed away. To get a better understanding of Shawn's position, it's important to note that the handwritten will was dated October 17, 2019, two months after King filed for divorce from Shawn in August after 22 years of marriage.

On Tuesday (February 16), Shawn filed an official legal objection, arguing that despite King's divorce filing, the process was never finalized, "Shawn was actively involved in Larry’s career and businesses, was a partner in many of them, and continued in that role up to Larry’s death, and currently. Shawn is the one with the most knowledge of Larry’s businesses, assets and wishes," the documents read.

Elsewhere, Shawn claimed that the handwritten will is not sufficient enough to replace her late husband's official will, which was formally filed in July 2015 and saw her be named the executor of his estate. He also named her the sole trustee of the King Family Trust, an estate planning trust in charge of his name and likeness rights, as well as the sole shareholder of his companies, including LK Productions and Larry King Enterprises, Inc.

Shawn also made mention of King's "secret account," where he would gift individuals without her knowledge. Some of the said gifts include over $266,000 paid to his son, Larry King Jr. "Clearly, as the recipient of these improper gifts, Larry Jr. is conflicted in representing Larry’s estate," the docs claim. "Shawn further believes that Larry Jr. exerted undue influence over Larry in connection with some or all of these gifts and with the handwritten will."

As you know, King died on January 23 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 87.
