Mental health struggles increase for students

Mental health facilities and school districts are reporting increases in mental health struggles for students.

Jamal Fisher, a behavioral specialist at Grand Rapids Public Schools testified about increased reports of depression and anxiety, before the Senate education committee on Tuesday.]

Fisher says students feel isolated from their peers, teachers and extended family.

Pine Rest reported a 15 percent increase in inpatient admissions in 2020 saying the highest increase were among kids.
