GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Justice for Black Lives is now working on a petition to try to convince Grand Rapids to reopen Heartside Park as a homeless urban campground.
Founder Aly Bates says she has over 1,100 signatures in the first week of her petition drive. She's hoping to get over 4,000 signatures.
The city closed the homeless camp several weeks ago for safety and sanitary issues.
