Whitmer announces COVID Recovery Plan

Governor Whitmer announced the Michigan COVID Recovery Plan that aims to vaccinate more Michiganders, provide additional funding to schools and businesses and help those who have been unable to work due to COVID-19 health orders.

The plan would provide 300-million-dollars for schools and 225-million-dollars in funding for economic development incentives.

The plan would also use federal funding of 90-million-dollars for COVID-19 vaccine distribution and 575-million-dollars for testing and tracing the virus.

Whitmer called on the Legislature to pass the Good Jobs for Michigan Program and extend unemployment benefits to 26 weeks.
