Fast Break Ep37 Matt Steigenga Former Mr. Basketball at South Christian

He was the first ever Mr. Basketball from West Michigan with a standout senior season back in 1988 that led his South Christian team to the Class B State title! As a McDonald's All-American, Steigenga could have gone anywhere in the country to play, but finally decided on MSU over North Carolina and playing for Jud Heathcote. In 1990, playing with the likes of Steve Smith and Mike Peplowski, Steigenga was a part of the 1990 Big Ten championship team for the Spartans and went on to get drafted by the Chicago Bulls and win an NBA Championship ring in 1997! Today, Matt works as a color analyst for the Spartan Sports Network calling Michigan State men's basketball games on the radio with partner Will Tieman.
