Citing the Pandemic, Local Educators Pushing Against M-STEP in 2021

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Teachers across the state say the state's standardized test shouldn't be administered this year, citing teaching-related difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We don't believe that it's an appropriate time for there to be statewide summative assessments," Kevin Polston, the superintendent for Godfrey-Lee Public Schools in Wyoming, told WOOD-TV.

The M-STEP exam was canceled last year.
