Report: Around 8,000 Spectrum Employees Pass on COVID-19 Vaccine

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Around 8,000 Spectrum Health employees decided to not get vaccinated against coronavirus last month, the largest health care system in the region told WOOD-TV.

The hospital system has around 31,000 employees.

"That the vaccine came out too soon and just too quick," Andrea Acevedo with SEIU Healthcare Michigan told WOOD-TV. "That there hasn't been enough time for the known risk factors involved, that's the biggest one that we have heard."

Acevedo's organization is one of the largest healthcare unions in Michigan.
