GR family safely escapes Christmas bombing in Nashville

A Grand Rapids family was able to safely escape after a bomb went off in Nashville near the condo they rented.

Buddy Gainey says he traveled with his wife Michelle and daughter Quincy to visit his daughter Cayman who had moved to the city.

They were staying a condo they rented for Christmas on Second Avenue.

Gainey says the explosion went off and woke him up out of a dead sleep as it shook the building and made glass and debris fall.

He grabbed his family and ran for safety.
