City's 38th Homicide Happens in SE Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Authorities say a man has died in a shooting in the southeast side of Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids Police Department Officers arrived Sunday evening in front of home on Thomas Street where they found a gunshot victim. Despite life-saving efforts, the man died at the scene.

GRPD says there are no suspects at this time.

The Kent County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy.

This marks the 38th homicide of the year in Grand Rapids, already a record for the city. The previous record was 34 set back in 1993.
