Blood Plasma Drive in Hastings Aims to Help COVID-19 Patients

HASTINGS (WOOD-AM) - A woman from Hastings is planning to host a blood plasma drive next month.

Kim Lloyd got the idea after her grandmother, who is in the hospital fighting coronavirus, received a convalescent plasma donation.

The FDA says plasma from those who have recovered from COVID-19 infections may contain antibodies.

"It just feels good to know that I can help somebody else's family member the way that somebody else's helped mine," Lloyd said.

The event will take place at New Life Assembly Church on State Road on January 25.
