State Epidemiologist: Coronavirus Trends Improving

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - State health officials are expressing optimism over what could be the peak of the current coronavirus surge in Michigan, though numbers remain elevated.

Sarah Lyon-Callo, the state's top epidemiologist, says new cases, outbreaks, hospitalizations and deaths are trending lower.

However, she also says the testing rate is also down.

The state reported 4,905 cases and 75 deaths on Wednesday.
