MI jails and prisons fighting COVID-19

The Kent County Sheriff's Office announced the first death from COVID-19 this week.

Officials say 50-year-old Carlos Davis died from a blood clot in his lungs that was caused by COVID-19.

He was taken to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital after he fell down a flight of steps earlier in the day.

He died on Tuesday.

Authorities say he tested positive back in October along with four other inmates, however the source of the outbreak was never found.
