GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Over 5,800 digital and physical turkeys were received during this year's Turkey Drop put on by Mel Trotter Ministries in Grand Rapids.
They were hoping to get around 2,500.
The organization will put together food boxes to send to food pantries around the region. No Thanksgiving dinner will be held at DeVos Place this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Donations are still being accepted online.
