Ottawa County Health Officials Concerned About Rising COVID-19 Numbers

HOLLAND (WOOD-AM) - Health officials in Ottawa County say they're growing concerned about the county's increasing coroanvirus positivity rate, which currently sits at 12.5 percent.

That's about one percent past the statewide average.

Ottawa County Health Administrator Marcia Mansaray says anything past 10 percent is worrisome.

"You shouldn't be finding more positives because you're testing more and more people,” Mansaray told WOOD-TV. "If COVID is not spreading at an increasing amount, we would expect to see more negatives. We would not expect the positivity to go up. If anything, we would expect it to go down."
