Drunk Driver Strikes Holland Police Cruiser

HOLLAND, Mich. - On Saturday, a Holland Department of Public Safety Cruiser was struck by a drunk driver.

Authorities said an officer was stopped on the shoulder of US-31, helping a driver whose vehicle had broken down. The passing drunk then drifted onto the shoulder and hit the back of the cruiser, causing it to flip off of the road.

The officer was wearing a seat belt and was forced to cut himself out of the flipped over cruiser. After the crash, the officer stated that he only had a sore arm.

The drunk driver was not injured.
