Kalamazoo County voters approved a new millage for affordable housing.
The proposal was approved by a margin of 5 percent or approximately 3,000 votes.
Chair of the county housing commission David Artley says they hope to partner with developers to build 700 affordable housing units.
An individual who owns a $100,000 house will pay about $38 a year for the .75 mills.
