COVID-19 restrictions tighten after increase in hospitalizations

Governor Gretchen Whitmer's administration is moving the Traverse City region backward in the reopening plan as well as tightening gathering size restrictions after COVID-19 hospitalizations have doubled in the last three weeks.

The state Department of Health and Human Services says effective immediately indoor venues without fixed seating must limit gathering to a maximum of 50 people, down from a maximum of 500 people.

Restaurants and bars must not seat more than six people at a table and establishments must keep customer's names and phone numbers for contact-tracing purposes.
