Advocates hopeful after Clean Slate law

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a bipartisan bill on Monday that reforms expungement laws and makes it easier for minor offenders to wipe their records.

The bill expands the types of felonies and misdemeanors eligible for expungement.

After seven years, eligible misdemeanors will be automatically start the process of expungement.
