State Supreme Court Will Not Delay Pandemic Ruling

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Supreme Court rejected Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's request to delay the effect of its decision to strike down a law she used to extend the state of emergency by 28 days.

The justices voted 6-1 on Monday, reaffirming their ruling declaring a 1945 emergency powers law unconstitutional.

Last week Whitmer reinstituted mask requirements and other restrictions issued by the state health department.
