Now at Category 3, Hurricane Delta Churns in Gulf Ahead of Friday Landfall

Byweather.com meteorologists

The National Hurricane Center says Hurricane Delta is once again reached Category 3 intensity and is heading for a Gulf Coast landfall Friday with life-threatening storm surge, damaging winds and rainfall flooding from Louisiana and east Texas to Mississippi. This includes some of the same areas that were ravaged by Hurricane Laura more than a month ago.

Storm watchers say as much expected, Delta picked up strength again over warmer Gulf of Mexico water with a lack of disruptive shearing winds Thursday.
