First Rockford, now Wyoming cancel football games due to COVID-19 cases

ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) — Both Rockford and Wyoming high schools have canceled football games due to COVID-19 cases.

As News 8 reported yesterday, Rockford canceled its varsity football game this week after a player tested positive for COVID-19.

Rockford scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. The team was set to play at its home stadium against Grand Haven High School.

School officials say it is unknown at this time if any other students or coaches were in close contact with the player who contracted the virus.

School officials in Wyoming on Tuesday canceled their football program until Oct. 18 due to positive COVID-19 test results.
