Justice for Black Lives protesters to march for racial equality in GR today

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids-based Justice for Black Lives, a local non profit organization aiming to make legislative and community-based changes for people of color, announced it is holding a protest and march in downtown Grand Rapids today.

Organizers said the event slated to start at 4 p.m. and is being called“We Will Not Be Silenced”on Facebook.

The organization is pushing for racial equality in the criminal justice system.

News 8 said authorities were using city vehicles to block off several streets downtown on Monroe Center.
