Cold Weather Plans Being Made for Grand Rapids "Social Zones"

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Downtown restaurants and businesses say they want the so-called "social zones" to stay after the colder weather arrives.

"The plan right now is for the city to expand this policy that allows for these zones to exist into May of next year," Mark Miller with Downtown Grand Rapids Incorporated told WOOD-TV.

Business owners are floating ideas that would involve heating and covering the areas.
