GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State health department officials announced a plan to start aerial sprays this week to kill mosquitoes and prevent them from infecting people with Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

Officials said the spraying will start Wednesday evening, weather permitting, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced Monday. Spraying will cover 10 counties where EEE has already been found in horses this year, including Newaygo, Kent, Ionia, Barry, Mecosta, and Montcalm counties in West Michigan.
