Capitol gun ban rejected by Commission

On Monday, the Michigan State Capitol Commission voted against banning guns from the State Capitol.

The notion to ban guns from the building came after armed protesters entered the Capitol in late April. Said protesters were against the way Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has handled the coronavirus pandemic.

The cost of implementing a ban could have ran between $500,000-$1.3 million in order to fund law enforcement and equipment for security checkpoints.
