Detroit Lions cancel Tuesday practice to protest Kenosha police shooting

The Detroit Lions chose not to practice Tuesday. 

Instead, The Detroit News reported there was much listening and talking, pain and understanding, expressing and learning.

Reporter Rod Beard said that in the wake of the Jacob Blake shooting in Kenosha, Wisc., the Lions players huddled in the locker room, sharing their own heartfelt stories of dealing with police and trying to figure out a way to cope with the heavy burden of another police-involved shooting of a Black man.

Shortly after their meeting in the locker room, the entire group of players gathered outside the practice facility in Allen Park and addressed the media about shooting
