GOP CONVENTION: Republicans have officially renominated Trump for President

BYJONATHAN EASLEY-

GOP Leadership officially have  selected President Trump to be their party’s nominee on Monday, setting up a general election battle against Democratic nomineeJoe Biden.

Convention planners say that while the Republican National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. has been scaled back dramatically due to the coronavirus pandemic, Republicans officially nominated Trump through an in-person roll call vote, with delegates standing up to declare their support for the president.

Already on Monday, Vice president Pence has spoken. He also suggested Trump would appear in-person on Monday as well. It's expected the President will make some sort of appearance in front of the convention on all four nights, a campaign aide said.
