Holland City Council Votes in Favor of LGBTQ Protections

HOLLAND (WOOD-AM) - In an 8-1 vote, councilors agreed to amend Holland's nondiscrimination ordinance to include protections for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

The vote came around 2 a.m. Dozens of people spoke during public comment.

The vote at Wednesday's meeting, which was the council's first in-person meeting in months, came after months of debate.
