Residents in Grand Rapids are trying to take advantage of a federal program to renovate the community.
The Serve, Share, Improve program gives federal aid to home owners who make repairs to their homes like functional doors, roofs and more.
Organizers with Seeds of Promise in Grand Rapids realized the community did not know about the program because of the way it was initially marketed.
