Ingham county Judge sentences ex-MSU coach to jail in Nassar-related case

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD TV) — Kathy Klages, a Former MSU head gymnastics coach was sentenced Tuesday to 90 days in jail for lying to police during an investigation into ex-Olympic and university doctor Larry Nassar.

Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Joyce Draganchuk sentenced Klages noted the sentence includes 18 months’ probation. 

Klages, 65, tearfully apologized for the pain the case has caused its victims just before being sentenced.

She was found guilty by a jury in February of a felony and a misdemeanor for denying she knew of Nassar’s abuse prior to 2016 when survivors started to come forward publicly.
