HUDSONVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — The coronavirus pandemic has changed many things in our daily lives, including the drivers education industry, that’s now facing a backlog.

In normal times, taking a a driver’s training class would mean not having to worry about wearing a mask or not being able to use your own car for lessons.

Yet, now masks are reality for those in the drivers education industry. They say they’re working to overcome these new challenges.

Dave Muma, the owner of Century Driving School in Hudsonville noted, “We were shut down right at the beginning of our peak."

The transition during the COVID-19 pandemic hasn’t been easy, Muma added

The industry now faces a decrease in class size, due to COVID-19, and now that number is down to 10.
