BLENDON TOWNSHIP (WOOD-AM) - Sheriff's Detectives in Ottawa County are hoping modern technology can help solve a case that's been cold since 1967.
The remains of "Jenny" will be exhumed in Blendon Township early Wednesday. A DNA sample will be obtained.
"We understand the challenges of a 53-year-old homicide," Capt. Mark Bennett told WOOD-TV. "But this victim is in an unmarked grave and we're hoping to at least give an identity to this victim."
Hunters discovered her body near 52nd Avenue and Fillmore Street. An autopsy determined she was beaten and strangled.
