Gov. Gavin Newsom of California on Monday ordered all counties in the state to close indoor operations for a handful of businesses, including restaurants, bars, movie theaters and museums, as Covid-19 cases continue to climb.

Newsom's executive order comes after he had previously ordered these businesses to close in counties on the state’s “watch list.” The new order, which will now apply across the state, will be issued effective immediately, Newsom said. The businesses will be allowed to operate outdoors, if possible, he said.
