Football, other fall sports to be conference only games says Big Ten

by: WOOD TV

(WOOD TV) — League officials with The Big Ten Conference said Thursday that the Big Ten will not play non-conference games in football and several other sports this fall because of the coronavirus pandemic.

In the release issued Thursday afternoon the league cited medical advice in reaching its decision, the biggest yet by a power conference, and added ominously that the plan would be applied only “if the conference is able to participate in fall sports.”

As of now, the fall football season is still undecided.
