U.S. economy adds 4.8 million jobs in June, vs expected increase of 2.9 million
Data released by the Labor Department on Thursday showed non-farm payrolls(new jobs) jumped by 4.8 million in June and the U.S. unemployment rate fell to 11.1% as the country continued its reopening from the coronavirus pandemic,
Many economists had been expecting a 2.9 million increase and a jobless rate of 12.4%.
Statistically, today's report of jobs growth marked a significant increases from the 2.7 million in May.
