MI lawmakers send bill to Whitmer allowing summer tax deferral

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD TV) — Both homeowners and business operations impacted by the coronavirus pandemic or major dam flooding would be allowed to defer their summer property taxes until 2021 without being penalized under proposed legislation sent to Governor Whjitmer.

The bill was approved in the Legislature Thursday, as lawmakers moved more bills for initial action on others before breaking until later in the summer.
