GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Terrapin Care, the first facility to legally grow marijuana in the city of Grand Rapids is looking to hire new team members.

The Colorado-based marijuana grower is hosting a virtual job fair Tuesday June 23 in order to start filling positions. It is also working to make sure workers include members of groups that bore the brunt of marijuana prohibition.

Terrapin spokesperson Peter Marcus said, “We will be making sure that people of color have an opportunity to work for us in this brand new market of ours in Michigan.”

The site at 2055 Oak Industrial Drive NE between Plymouth and Maryland avenues is a 35,000-square-foot marijuana grow facility used by Terrapin.
