GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The former Lowell police chief is demanding to stay on the city's payroll following his forced resignation.
Steve Bukala was given the ultimatum to resign or be fired after he voiced support for armed men who wanted to patrol downtown Lowell following the riot in Grand Rapids.
His supporters voiced their support during a virtual city council meeting last night.
